Where is your heart? Is it with your phone? Your house? Your Spouse? Your Children? Your job?
I think as Moms, the struggle is real at times. We tend to give so much of our heart away and focus on our children, our spouse, our home, our job, our hobbie… than we forget to give our heart fully to Jesus. If you are a single parent, you can relate. We have our own little plans, to do list, calendar and flow that we often idolized to make our day better. There is nothing wrong with that but we can get lost on those things. Just a little pep talk and my heart and where my priority needs to be…..on Him rather than anything else.
The scripture reminds us to:
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:19-24).
I bear testimony that our priorities, tendencies, inclinations, desires, appetites, and passions will have a direct bearing on our next estate. Let us always remember the words of the Savior: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” May our hearts be found in the right place is my prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
