|| How often do we compromise ourselves in the name of fun? In the name of “staying in the loop”? Let me tell you, one of the hardest things God has asked of me is to give up certain TV shows. I knew that what happened in these shows were not good foods to feed my mind, but I couldn’t let go. In the end, I’ve given up a good number of shows and now I barely have time for TV. It has opened my time to spend doing homework or studying the word of God, taking care of my children, spending quality time with loved ones, writing music, singing, doing things that’s meaningful and purposeful… I have more time to spend with friends and loved ones. || it’s crazy how our purity can be jeopardized by things as simple as TV, the Internet, music, etc. But each of these are gateways to immorality and sin. Not everyone feels led to give up things in the name of purity, but I’ll tell you that it is a beneficial discipline for all who choose it. I want to ask you, “what is a challenge to give up in your life right now?” Pray about it. Talk with God. Allow Him to guide you down the path of purity. There is freedom on the other side.
