Sometimes we feel as if life has crushed us; taken the wind completely out of our sails. There is no possible way to sink any lower, because life has punted us down to the very bottom rung.
Here is what gives me hope today. His promise!
2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
And the good news is that when life knocks you down, the only place to go is up.
Psalms 42:11 says, “Hope thou in God.” Sometimes this is the only place we have to turn. But it is always the right place…the best place. It is a place of saving grace, of overflowing joy, mercy that is renewed each day, healing that knows no bounds and love without limit.
It is a place where the broken are made whole again, where the captive is set free. It is a place of complete redemption.
Life is certainly not for the faint of heart. Getting knocked down doesn’t mean you’re out of the fight. Look around. Get your bearings. Cry out to God. And come back swingin’.
