Trust in The Lord no matter what….

Have you ever tried to feed a baby? They start waving their hands in the air and frantically crying because they want the food RIGHT NOW! You are doing your level best to get the food to the highchair, but you want to cut it into tiny pieces so the baby doesn’t choke to death. You also want it to cool off so that it doesn’t scald the roof of their mouth. Does any of this make sense to the baby? No. He/She’s hungry and he wants to eat RIGHT NOW!

It will take a few years for the now starving teen to understand that while yes, they are hungry….it takes some time to prepare dinner and get it ready for consumption.

This is the way we often are as Christians. When we are baby Christians, before we really understand how faith works….we are like the baby, feverishly waving our hands in the air saying, “God, we need this. And we need it RIGHT NOW. Send it my way! Amen.” And God is saying, “Wait a minute, buddy. You aren’t even close to ready for the amazing thing I have coming your way. If I give it to you right now, it will only cause you harm…and might kill you or change the course of your life in a negative way.” And you’re still frantically waving in the air, yelling at God about how he must have forgotten about you.

It is only until we have been through many of life’s challenges and allowed God to work in our lives that we begin to understand that his timing is ALWAYS perfect. When we ask him for something, he is already on top of it. He is just waiting to prepare us for the time of the unveiling. And when he does, the gift he has for us far exceeds our human expectations.

Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
