Keep Calm, Take Heart and Read The Book of Psalms –
No offense to the other books, but I could really live in the Psalms. David was my kind of guy! He had extreme highs and plummeting lows. And I love when He goes before God and just lays it all on the line:
Psalm 42:11, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.”
Are you facing something today that seems to be conquering you? Something that feels like the tide is pulling you under? Some offense that has made you question yourself or your future? Stop right where you are and remember this:
Psalm 27:14, “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
When you wait on the Lord, he will bring you exactly what you need at the very hour you need it. If your answer hasn’t arrived yet, it means he is getting you ready for the awesomeness of what’s to come. Help is on the way. He has not forgotten you, nor are you being ignored. But patience (something that I have very little of myself) is something that is learned over time…and definitely a virtue.
Take heart! God wants you to see his goodness in your own life so that you can glorify him in all that you do. You were created to live a life of joy unspeakable, but it doesn’t mean that every day will be perfect. It means that when the storm is raging, HE will carry you through and give you a song to sing in the darkest midnight.
Happy Sunday! Rejoice, for Greater is coming!
