WHY compare?

WHY compare?

There is always going to be someone – Prettier – faster – fitter – skinnier – seemingly happier – smarter – seemingly better – etc – WHY compare? My goal is to the best VERSION of myself and not a half compared version of someone else. I want to be happy with what I am doing and not worry about what everyone else is doing. I know it’s hard in this day and age when you know what EVERYONE – your friends and people you don’t even know are doing – but it’s worth it for your happiness to not compare.

Focus on who YOU are, be YOUself and do YOU. Of course keep your eyes on The Gift Giver, The Creator of all things. Knowledge His in all that you do as He direct your path. He knows what you are capable of doing. We each have our own strengths.
You are who you are for a reason. God made no mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up by comparing yourself instead cherish and appreciate who you are. Believe it or not someone out there wants to be you!

“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.”
(2 Corinthians 10:12 NIV)

Remember, “Comparison is the thief of Joy”

Be wise and joyful!

Guard your Thoughts

Guard your Thoughts

People tend to be generous when sharing their nonsense, fear, and ignorance. And while they seem quite eager to feed you their negativity, please remember that sometimes the diet we need to be on is a spiritual and emotional one. Be cautious with what you feed your mind and soul. Fuel yourself with positivity and let that fuel propel you into positive action.

Today, Try giving up all the thoughts that make you feel bad, or even just some of them, and see how doing that changes your life. You don’t need negative thoughts. All they have ever given you was a false self that suffers. They are all lies.

If you were determined to get enjoyment out of every moment, you would learn to do whatever it took. What it takes is not listening to negative thoughts, yours or anyone else’s. Disregarding negative thoughts isn’t hiding our head in the sand, but simply not allowing the negative to clutter and influence over our experience of the present moment. The moment is never improved or helped by negativity, although we are programmed to think our negative thoughts, worries, and fears serve a useful function. When you really examine this idea, however, you see that negativity doesn’t serve. Focusing on negativity and fears doesn’t make anyone a better person, nor does doing that help us function better in the world. In fact, the truth is quite the opposite.

Everything we do and say, comes from what we are thinking. The saying that “It’s all in your mind”, is very true. The media, society, our friends and family members all influence the majority of what we think. For this reason, it is important to learn how to guard your mind. Your mind is not only a terrible thing to waste but it is a useful tool. Every thought and imagination that we have starts in our mind. Every time we allow negative images and thoughts to linger in our mind, we will eventually act on these thoughts. However, you don’t have to allow your mind to be control by negative thoughts and images. Here’s some ways to guard your mind, using biblical scriptures.

First understand what your mind is capable of. The same way you can think on negative things is the same way you can think on positive things. Your mind is capable of renewing. Romans 12:2 (NIV) says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will”. You can start renewing you mind at any time on any day. The dictionary define Renew, as “to begin and take up again, to revive, to reestablish, to recover, to restore to a former state, make new or as if new again”. All of these things is what your mind is capable of, when you make the decision to renew it.

Secondly, in order to guard your mind you have to identify what you are thinking about and why. For instance, did someone hurt you and all you can think about is how to get revenge. Philippians 4:8 (KJV) says “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”. Your mind is not there for you to think about the bad, the negative or the evil, it’s for you to think about what’s good. Every time you find yourself thinking about something bad, mediate on Philippians 4:8 and remind yourself what you should be thinking about. Moreover, remember the more you think on what’s bad and evil you will eventually increase the chances that you act in these thoughts.

Thirdly, set your mind. Your mind can turn on and turn off the thoughts that comes into your mind. You can literally stop what you are thinking about. For example, when your hear someone say something bad about someone and you don’t believe it, in your mind you already made the decision that you won’t believe what you have heard, that’s setting your mind. Colossians 3:2 (NIV) says “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”. It time to learn how to set your mind on things that are above. Romans 8:5 (NIV) says “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires”. To set your mind on what the Spirit desires, you have to also know what the fruits of the Spirit are, Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law”. You can set your mind on love, joy and peace. You don’t have to set your mind on earthly things, such as lust, greed for material gain and temporary pleasures.

Lastly, the ultimate goal is to have the mind of Christ. How would you achieve this? The above steps are a few ways to start. Mark 8:33 (NKJV) says “But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Jesus had to rebuke Peter, because Peter was busy minding the things of this world and not the things of God. Many of us, find ourselves doing exactly what Peter did. We get so consume by the world and it’s troubles, we forget that we are to live in the world not of this world. To have the mind of Christ, you have to be mindful of the things of God. Philippians 2:2-5 (NIV) gives us a view of this, “then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus”. Reading your bible will also help you accomplish this ultimate goal. God has called us to live specific lives and in order to do so, we must also have His mindset.

Every time you get distracted with negative thoughts and images, just remember the ultimate goal, a Christ like mind. Jesus never worried about what the world was doing, He always stayed focus on His ultimate goal, dying on the cross for our sins. So begin today in guarding your mind against Satan lies and attacks. God did not give us a mind to be mess with by negative things. God desires us to have peace in our minds, 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”.

You are ROYALTY

Act

Walk

And

DRESS like one.

Know who you are.

Lift up your head Princess.

If not, the crown falls.

Your crown may have fallen out of your head.
It’s not over. Pick it up, do what you have to do, put it back on and keep on walking.

Know who you are!

God’s Precious Jewel.

Nothing and no one can ever change that.

We are being created in God’s spiritual image. “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

When God’s special treasure is finished, our Savior “will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). Never lose track of that when you are going through trials.

We now are God’s. Today is the day the Master Jeweler is making His jewels, and you are one of them!

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people.” In other words, God’s very special treasure (1 Peter 2:9).
